OCTOBER 2024

Once again Mhairi had the opportunity to visit the school and farm and catch up with the new headmistress.

She was delighted to report that St Theresa's is going from strength to strength.

The number of pupils continues to be capped at 1000.  The girls are learning and thriving and every girls receives a free school lunch.  Their exam results have been some of the best in the county

Mhairi also visited the farm - the plot of land that SLK assisted in buying 5 years ago.  This now provides 50% of the food for the lunches.  There is a small herd of healthy milk producing cows, pigs and chickens.  The land has gradually been cultivated and is now very productive.

The project as been so successful that the local diocese have donated a plot of land to the local boys school so that they can start a similar project!

The charity continues to contribute to school lunches.  Inflation has caused considerable price rises in Uganda as elsewhere in the world.  We have also supported investments in the kitchen.
